About Calvary Chapel
"Worship the Lord in your place of life."
When the United States was in a political and economic turmoil in the 1960s, Calvary Chapel began with Jesus Movement, a revival movement with Pastor Chuck Smith at its centre. At the time, many young souls from the secular culture were restored through in-depth bible studies focusing on exposition of the Word and through the worship music ministry that led the era. The praises from Calvary Chapel Maranatha Music are still being sung today, transcending denominations. Currently, with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in the United States as the centre, about 2,000 churches and 5,000 pastors are dutifully serving in ministries.
